Bar 3 Quarter Horses is offering for sale some of the country’s top AQHA Ranch Horse Bloodlines at its Ranch Horse Production Sale. We are selling approximately 30 head of AQHA Quarter Horses with color, conformation, and pedigree. Approximately 1/3 of the horses being offered are Grullas and Blue Roans. The rest are Palominos, Duns, and Roans.
We are offering some started geldings and fillies from 2005 to 2007 years, long yearlings from 2008, and weanlings from 2009. We are also offering some 3-1 packages on a limited number of young broodmares.
The Mare Band – When we started our breeding program ten (10) years ago we just went back to horses I grew up with, knew, and liked. You cannot find a horse on the ranch that does not have some of Poco Buneo, King P234, Joe Hancock, and Music Mount in its bloodlines. The broodmare mare band now is 100% home grown with the majority of our mares being daughters of Golden Jaz Music. We have six (6) grulla mares, two (2) Bay Roans, two (2) Bays, a Black, Dun and a Liver Chestnut. The ranch mares bloodlines have a mix of Poco Buneo, Music Mount, Leo, Joe Hancock, Go Man Go, Triples Image & Mr. San Peppy.
The Stallions - We purchased Golden Jaz Music at a month old. He was raised, broke, and trained at the ranch. He is the cornerstone of our broodmare band and he is 100% color producer with the dun gene. Shine Like Music was born here and his sire is Shine Like Hail (1999 NRCHA Reserve World Champion) who is by the great Shining Spark. Blue Apache War we purchased as a yearling from a Wyoming Ranch, he is Blue Valentine/Joe Hancock with breeding on him going back to the Haythorn Ranch. These horses are truly 100% ranch raised by Robin and myself. We have no staff or trainers, we clean our own stalls and ride our own colts.

April 10, 2005 - Sorrel with Flaxen Mane - Gelding 2009 Ranch SaleThis is a grandson of Doc’s Remedy crossed with the Music Mount bloodlines. He is a very nice gelding to handle and ride. He is very soft and really travels well with a real smooth walk. There is no buck in him and was real easy to break. This spring I started working him with a Hackamore and he is doing real well. This gelding has in his extended bloodlines horses such as : Doc’s Remedy, Tiki Sand, Double Mount Music, Roan Hancock, Leo, Triples Image, Triple Chick, & Three Bars. AQHA PEDIGREE

SUN TE JAZ
APRIL 10, 2005 - Chocolate Brown Grullo - Gelding 2009 Ranch SaleThis is a super nice gelding gentle enough for less experience riders. Sun Te is loaded with dun factor, he has stripes on his legs, shoulders, back and a wide black dorsal strip. This gelding has big hip, short back, and a small baby doll head. This horse has great eye appeal. When I broke this gelding he bucked pretty good and that was it. Since then he never even offered to pitch or do anything wrong. I started him in hackamore this spring and he really does good. Sun Te likes cows and would be great prospect for cow events or a great trail horse. AQHA PEDIGREE |

April 20, 2006 - Red Dun - Filly 2009 Ranch SaleMoon Shine is out of some of the best performance bloodlines on the market today (Carol Rose Quarter Horses). She has World Champions 2 and 3 generations back. Moon Shine sire is Shine Like Music by 1999 Reserve World Champion Reining Cow Horse Shine Like Hail by Shining Spark. The dam is a grand daughter of Doc’s Remedy and Major Bonanza and King Fritz. She is extremely athletic and has lots of go in her. May 1, 2006 - Dun - Gelding 2009 Ranch SaleThis dun gelding is a fancy looker with lots of dun factor. He is Music Mount and Three Bars breeding on both sides. He also has Triple Image, Joe Hancock, Poco Buneo, and Leo on his papers. This gelding is doing well in training. He travels right out and is extremely light footed. You won’t get tired riding this horse and he is going to give you all he has. I have started this gelding on the hackamore this spring, he seems to like it better than a snaffle bit. AQHA PEDIGREE |

SAUK RIVER REBELJune 2007 - Silver Grullo - Gelding 2009 Ranch SaleThis is going to be a big grullo ranch gelding. This gelding is out of our AQHA Grullo Stallion Golden Jaz Music and a big sorrel mare. The sorrel mare was out of a registered TB mare and registered Appaloosa stallion. This colt was handled some as a weaning and then turned out. When I caught him to start him this spring I had to rope him. I was pleasantly surprised how well he responded and how quick he caught on. JO TE VALENTINE
April 17, 2008 – Grulla with Roan Gene – Filly SOLDThis is a Blue Valentine/Joe Hancock & Poco Buneo bred filly. She has no white markings, lots of dark points with dorsal stripe and also exhibits the roan gene. Jo Te has lots of Grulla and Blue Roan in her bloodlines. Both the dam and grand dam have never left the ranch both are good mares and were easy to handle and break. The grand dam I used a lot in the mountains and at the ranch. Robin rode her a lot in the mountains and we also packed her. This is a very sweet and pretty filly, easy to catch and to be around. May 15, 2005 – Dun – Mare 2009 Ranch SaleThis is a good young mare we added to the sale with her first foal. Rain was started as a two year old at the ranch. She has had lots of ground work and I put a few rides on her in the round pen before breeding her and turning her out with the mare band. Her foal is out of Shine Like Music. We are offering her as a 3-1 package. Rain is in foal to Shine Like Music for April 2010. There is nothing wrong with this mare. SAUK RIVER POPPIE LONGMay, 2008 – Red Dun – Colt 2009 Ranch SaleThis is going to be a nice ranch gelding. This gelding is out of our AQHA Grullo Stallion Golden Jaz Music and a big sorrel mare. The sorrel mare was out of a registered TB Mare and a registered Appaloosa stallion. This colt handles nice and seems to be real smart. I have started his full brother this spring and I am real pleased with his response. He should mature to be 15H+ and 1,200 lbs. He is registered in the American Buckskin Registration Association. She had been started as a 3 year old. I rode her around the Ranch some and to the river 5 or 6 times before we put her in the mare band. I have raised 3 colts out of her.
